Job Description:
The State University of New York at Canton is searching for a talented individual to join the College community in the position of Director of Student Health Services. This is an eleven-month position.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Director of Health Services/ Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the overall design and coordination of a comprehensive student health program that provides consistent, quality, primary care to the undergraduate students of Canton College, and has a strong focus on educating students about developing behaviors that will enhance their long-term quality of life.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provision of competent, confidential, and respectful direct patient care.
- Working with colleagues across campus to organize and deliver comprehensive health education.
- All tasks consistent with the position as the administrator of the Health Services functional unit including hiring and supervising of staff; management of clinical protocols and record keeping; development and oversight of annual budget; participation in the divisional leadership team.
Required Qualifications:
- New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Candidates must have experience supervising professional staff, have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple assignments concurrently, and demonstrate comfort working with diverse populations.
Prior to final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
