LOSURDO Foods Inc - QA/Lab Manager

• Responsible for daily operations of the laboratory
• Conduct daily analyses including: Babcock butterfat, CEM microwave moisture analysis,chloride meter

salt testing, and pH as well as Milkoscan testing of raw milk, vat milk and whey samples

• Conduct microbiological testing of finished product samples and ingredients
• Obtain required licenses
• Conduct screening of incoming milk for antibiotic residues and bacteria count
• Conduct sensory evaluation of finished products; train technicians in sensory evaluation
• Responsible for training of technicians in all analyses and protocols, striving forequivalent proficiencies between technicians
• Conduct monthly proficiency testing (SNAP) of all certified technicians
• Foster team work
• Adhere to all safety policies & procedures
• Responsible for ensuring all testing is performed correctly and in a timely manner
• Responsible for ensuring all analytical results are accurate and properly documented
• Revise laboratory procedures to keep up with official standards, new technology and new

equipment

• Conduct monthly calibrations including Milkoscan, laboratory thermometers, pipettors,

analytical scales

• Record results; maintain records and documents
• Create customer COAs; complete COC for outside testing of swabs and products
• Prepare necessary reports and provide regular feedback to keep management informed
• Perform quality monitoring activities (air plates, swabbing, ATP swabs)
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lab
• Ensure compliance with company and regulatory procedures; follow all company GMPs
• Order supplies to ensure uninterrupted functioning of the lab
• Work with State and other regulatory personnel; assist with State inspections
• Support the plant’s SQF program
• Perform other duties assigned to support the business
• Perform duties for Quality Manager for SQF
