Position: Testing Coordinator
Department: Student Accessibility Services
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, 10-month position in the Student Accessibility Services Department beginning January 1, 2024.
Salary: $40,000
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and experience working with people with disabilities or equivalent.
Basic Functions include:
· Provide planning, administrative support, and exam coordination for academic exams in Student Accessibility Services [SAS] for students with testing accommodations related to disabilities.
· Communicate and collaborate with faculty and staff regarding exams. Serve as point of contact for SAS and provide excellent customer service. The Testing Services Coordinator reports to the Director of Student Accessibility Services.
Essential Functions include:
· Keep appropriate and detailed records of interactions with all students.
· Coordinate exam accommodations, including remediation of inaccessible formats.
· Coordinate with faculty to arrange for pick-up of exams.
· Coordinate and implement final exams for students with testing services, including but not limited to exam conflicts, room reservations, communication with parties, proctor training and scheduling (if needed), etc.
· Collaborate with campus constituents (e.g., Student Life, Residence Life, academic departments, etc.) to educate and increase awareness of disability issues within the Canton community.
· Assume responsibility for the accuracy and on-going daily maintenance of the exam log that contains necessary information regarding exams, students who are taking exams and the status of exams, as well as ensuring the security of exams.
· Process exams and send exam request emails, as necessary, and close the loop on exam changes so all participants involved have accurate information.
· Assist students with scheduling exams, providing tutorials as requested, and resolving exam conflicts with the students and their instructors.
· Represent the Office of Student Accessibility Services at campus events and activities, as requested.
· On occasion, this position may be required to flex the schedule within a given week or work overtime to cover or prepare for testing needs. This could include but is not limited to such needs as: Preparing for final exams and evening courses.
· Perform other duties from time to time as required and incidental to the work described above.
