Full Description

The Teacher Education Department at SUNY Potsdam invites applications for a full-time (10-month) tenure-track Assistant Professor to support its Secondary Mathematics Education programs, beginning either January or August 2024.

With a focus on enhancing equity and inclusion in the field and in practice, this position offers unique opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary and classroom-based teacher education research and pre-service teacher program development.

Successful candidate will be responsible for supporting curricula and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses for our secondary math teacher education programs.

Required qualifications:

• an earned doctorate degree in secondary math education or closely related field from an accredited institution (ABD applicants considered)
•  minimum three years of successful teaching within a middle or high school classroom setting
• demonstrated capacity for teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds
• and ability to conduct research appropriate to the rank of Assistant Professor
