The Advanced Studies Department at SUNY Potsdam invites applications for a full-time (10-month) tenure-track Assistant Professor of Special Education to support its M.S.Ed. Special Education program, Certificate of Advanced Studies in Inclusive and Special Education, and special education courses for general education teacher certification programs, beginning either January or August 2024.

With a focus on enhancing diversity and equity for all students, this position offers unique opportunities to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses and to supervise clinical field experiences in a program focused on mild to moderate disabilities.

Required qualifications:

• An earned doctorate degree in special education or a closely related field from an accredited institution (ABD applicants considered)
• Minimum three years of successful teaching of students with diverse abilities in a PK-12 setting
• Experience working with pre-service education students
• Demonstrated capacity for teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds
• and ability to conduct research appropriate to the rank of Assistant Professor.
