PROGRAMMER/ANALYST – SL-2
Job Description:
The Department of Information Services at the State University of New York at Canton invites applications for the position of Programmer Analyst SL2. Other grades may be considered with prior relevant SUNY and Ellucian Banner experience. The successful candidate will work closely with functional area end users to support the College’s software applications through implementation, enhancement, integration, and reporting activities. Duties will include research and analysis, as well as support for and implementation of Banner-centric software solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Computer Science or a related field. OR 2-year degree in computer- related field with 2-years professional experience in the field.
- Actual programming experience at the level of an internship or equivalent
- Object Oriented Programming concepts as evidenced by experience in Java or other OOP languages.
- Knowledge/experience with SQL
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to keep pace with modern technology.
- Proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications, it is preferred the candidate also have:
- Programming/analysis experience in SQL; PL/SQL
- Programming in a Linux/Unix environment
- OOP experience, such as Java
- Experience with PL/SQL Developer, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, or a comparable IDE.
- Familiarity with web technologies (Groovy, Grails, JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, etc.)
- Familiarity with version control such as Git or SubVersion
- Experience with Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Workflow and PageBuilder.
- Experience with SUNY SICAS supported applications.
Additional Information:
- Salary range for the SL2 position is $45,000-50,000
- This is a 12-month, full-time position.
- This position is a grade SL-2 Programmer Analyst. Other grades may be considered commensurate with prior experience.
