Math/Science TRiO SSS Tutor
Hourly Rate: $21.00
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a part-time, temporary position in the TRiO SSS Department beginning January 2025.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience in the area(s) of Math or Science is preferred.
- Ability to develop positive rapport with participants and campus faculty/staff.
- Proficiency in Mathematics, Science.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Tutoring experience.
- Ability to work with multiple students at once.
Duties:
- Provide tutoring on specific subject areas such as but not limited to algebra, statistics, accounting, biology, chemistry, and physics.
- Provide intensive in-person academic assistance and guidance in one-on-one or group settings.
- Must be able to work on campus during the academic year, no remote availability will be allowed.
- Greet participants and ensure they have electronically signed in and out of the tutoring lab.
- Review assignments and homework with participants.
- Identify and develop tutorial material as needed.
