Campus Safety Specialist / Staff Assistant SL-2
Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, staff position in the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree.
- Code Enforcement Officer Training or willingness and ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
- Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Certification or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- RCRA/DOT Certification.
- Hazwopper Certification
- OSHA 40-Hour Certification.
- Familiarity with CAD.
- Familiarity with Microsoft word and excel.
- Electrical and construction/building trades background.
- Reading of and understanding construction drawings.
Duties:
- Performing and management of required life safety system inspections to include but not limited to emergency egress lighting, fire extinguishers, AEDs, ADA doors, SPCC above ground tank inspections, sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, SAAs, hot work areas.
- Facilitating the management, proper collection, classification, storage, transportation, and disposal of non-hazardous, electronic, and universal waste as required and assist with the management of hazardous waste.
