Job Description:
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, 12-month, tenure track faculty position in the Library Department.
SUNY Canton’s Learning Commons is a resource-rich hub for innovation, collaboration, and engagement. Under the leadership of an executive director of learning commons, the Southworth Library provides integral resources and services that support teaching and learning. This position reports directly to the library director and coordinates with other departments located in the Learning Commons. Primary responsibilities include supporting student retention through targeted outreach to the campus and our diverse student body; leading student engagement efforts for the learning commons; providing learning commons orientation and training to new students, faculty, and staff; developing and delivering library instruction; collaborating with campus departments to ensure compliance with campus-wide and system-wide accessibility standards; liaising with specific academic departments, including collection development and support for the integration of Open Education Resources (OER) into instruction; providing reference and patron service both virtually and at specified service points; and engaging with the campus community by participating in campus governance, committee work, and university service.
Required Qualifications:
- -Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program (those completing a degree by August 2024 are encouraged to apply) or equivalent.
