Health WorkForce New York (HWNY) is looking for an energetic Director to lead Northern Area Health Education Center (NAHEC) initiatives that grow, develop, and support the health workforce in Northern New York. As an integral part of the management team, you’ll help optimize health workforce development for the partners we serve using a blend of digital tools and community-based programming. Established in 2001 and located in Canton, New York, NAHEC is a non-profit community-based organization working to improve health care access, delivery, and outcomes in a five-county region of Northern New York. The Center Director will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and be responsible primarily for developing community partnerships and overseeing the programmatic endeavors of the organization to ensure the goals set by the CEO, NAHEC Board of Directors, New York State AHEC System, and other agency funders are met. The Center Director will: work with the finance and administrative team to ensure adherence of company policies and procedures; monitor and support grant deliverables; manage contractual obligations; supervise program staff; ensure on-time accurate reporting, and; provide leadership for grant and venture efforts as directed by the CEO. Qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree in education, public health or related field, Master’s degree preferred; minimum two years’ experience in nonprofit project management; minimum three years’ experience in an operational leadership capacity; experience in grant writing, procurement, reporting and management; excellent interpersonal skills; strong knowledge of social media tools and platforms; tech savvy, proficient in MS Office and Adobe; capacity to exercise sound judgment in selected areas with little precedent, and; ability to cope effectively with a high degree of job stress and organizational change.
