County Auditor
Jefferson County is seeking a skilled professional to oversee the auditing of all County Claims, accounts and charges to ensure compliance with applicable State law and regulations, and for the preparation and maintenance of related financial reports. The County Auditor prepares studies and reports on financial and budgetary matters as requested by the Board of Legislators. Additionally, the County Auditor undertakes special audits of departmental financial operations as requested by the Board or County Administrator.
Salary Range: $89,392 - $100,612 per year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, economics or closely related field, including or supplemented by at least 18 semester credit hours in accounting and three years of accounting or auditing experience; OR
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an associate's degree including or supplemented by at least 18 semester credit hours in accounting and five years of accounting or auditing experience; OR
(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
